Halo Reach is the first full on Halo game I just didn’t check out aside from that ODST one, sort like the game equivalent of the first M. Night Shyamalam film I chose to not see in theaters (Lady in the Water, I think), starting a fascination with his movies in a freakish, how-much-worse-is-this-one sort of home video with laughing friends kind of way.
The Halo series, for me, isn’t quite that entertaining in how I dislike it so much as a series I got tired of around the 2nd one. I had a lot of fun with the first one, then had a lot more fun with the multiplayer on the 2nd, beyond being let down by the campaign stuff.
By part 3 I had lost my taste for the pace and feel of the multiplayer and the campaign stuff had taken on a bizarrely pretentious vibe for such a silly story. Hating it for the goons that haunt the online component isn’t so much my thing as I would generally just mute everyone on the occasions I’d give it a go, but mostly it just wasn’t my cup o’ tea, I guess.
But this animation came out of the existence of the new game, so that’s good.
